Taner Savut Obituary, Death – The body of Taner Savut, the Sporting Director of Hatayspor, was found on Tuesday, more than two weeks after two deadly earthquakes devastated Turkey and Syria. The earthquakes occurred in both countries simultaneously. Turkey and Syria were the countries that were hit by the earthquakes. Countries on either side of the fault line felt the effects of the earthquake. Around 47,000 people have lost their lives as a result of natural catastrophes so far this year, making this year the one with the greatest reported number of natural disaster-related fatalities ever.
Since the 6th of February, Savut had not been seen or heard from, and no one knew where he was or how he got there. No one knew how he got there either. His body was discovered in close proximity to the spot where the body of Ghanaian player Christian Atsu, who played for the same squad, had been retrieved the previous week. Both players were members of the same team. Approximately one month had passed since Christian Atsu was reported missing.
On Tuesday, the Turkish club Hatayspor wrote a tweet on their Twitter account in which they expressed their “sad grief” over the demise of their “Sporting Director Taner Savut.” Savut departed this world on Monday after suffering an untimely death. “Taner, the instructor of our class, you can rest assured that not a single one of us will ever forget you in the not too distant future. Rest in heaven. You will live on in our thoughts and in our hearts as someone who is cherished and remembered always.”
Several of the most successful teams in the Turkish league, as well as the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), have offered their condolences in Savut’s memory through statements of sympathy. Galatasaray and Fenerbahce stand out as the teams that have paid Savut the most attention and respect in their tributes. Once Savut passed away, there were many tributes and obituaries written in his honor.
