Reid Nelson Death, Obituary – On February 5, 2023, Reid Adam Nelson, age 22, formerly of Viola, Wisconsin, and currently residing in Waukesha, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly. On April 4, 2000, he became the son of David Nelson and Karine (Booher) Nelson. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Reid is a 2018 graduate of Kickapoo High School and spent his childhood in the town of Viola. Reid, who was a very inventive person, used to spend countless hours working in the shop.
Whether he was making something out of wood or out of metal, he enjoyed the process of making something out of nothing. In addition to that, he enjoyed being outside and interacting with various animals, particularly canines. Reid was a passionate shooter who used the internet as a form of relaxation by frequently watching videos and reading historical accounts. He was an accomplished Dungeons and Dragons player and enjoyed playing a wide variety of videogames.
Reid is survived by his parents, David Nelson and Karine Booher; his siblings, Robert, Paige, and Payten; his maternal grandfather, Robert Booher; his aunts and uncles, Wayne Nelson, Darrell Booher, Allan Booher, Cheryl Booher, and Julie Nelson; as well as a large number of great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and other family and friends. Reid passed away on April 15, 2019. His maternal grandmother, Virginia Booher, and an uncle named LaVerne Nelson all passed away before Reid did.
Reid’s maternal grandparents were Robert and Vera Nelson, and his paternal grandparents were Virginia Booher and LaVerne Nelson. On the Saturday, February 11, 2023, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Viroqua, with Father Joseph Richards serving as the celebrant.
The Viola Cemetery will be used for the interment. On Friday, February 10, 2023, visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing at the church until the time of the service. His funeral and cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua.
