Det Ch Insp Chris Wood has requested the assistance of the general public for the Metropolitan Police Department. “Please get in touch with me if you have recently seen a vehicle that belonged to a friend or family member that was recently damaged, if you have seen one parked up or abandoned, or if you have been asked to repair one,” he said.

“I have a team of officers and staff working hard to establish what happened to Kai and why – if you saw what happened or have information that can help, I need you to get in touch and share what you know,” the captain said. “I have a team of officers and staff working hard to establish what happened to Kai and why.”

Residents of Southwark, where the victim, Mr. McGinley, was originally from, have expressed their shock and horror at the news of his shooting. Debbie Burton, a grandmother and a former educator who currently resides on Pembroke Road, shared the following statement:

“It’s just a sad and worrying thing to happen. Since I’ve been living on this street for the past 26 years, I can confidently say that nothing even remotely similar to this has ever taken place in Erith.” “Erith feels very safe, and I never would have thought that anything like this would happen here,” said another local woman who just recently moved into the area.
