Julie Hullinger Obituary, Death – Julie Marie Patterson Summers, a 69-year-old resident of Roosevelt, passed on to be with her heavenly father on October 22, 2022. On May 16, 1953, in Heber City, Utah, Julie was the second of Bob Jimmy and Hilda Thacker Patterson’s seven children.
She and Loyal Summers exchanged vows in the Provo Utah Temple on August 16, 1985. Their son Anthony “Tony” Summers was born on November 25, 1987. After graduating as salutatorian of her class from Wasatch High School in 1971, Julie went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in physical education from Rick’s College and BYU in 1976. She was a teacher and a coach at East Elementary and West Junior High.
Julie had a lifelong love of sports, both as a participant and spectator. As a young adult, she played basketball, volleyball, field hockey, and softball. She loved watching college sports, particularly football, and she never missed one of her son’s high school soccer or church basketball games. She also liked to read, travel, and solve puzzles. When she was younger, when she traveled to Europe with her sister, she enjoyed taking road trips and discovering new locations.
Family was a big part of who she was, so she loved to get together with her mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews at family reunions. In order to preserve those memories, she also enjoyed taking pictures and creating scrapbooks, finishing 20 of them.
Julie has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for her entire life. She has worked in a number of organizations where she has met people and had the opportunity to be of assistance to them. These groups include Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Young Womens, Relief Society, and Primary.
She spent nine years working alongside her husband in the Vernal Utah Temple while serving as a missionary in the Randlett Utah Branch. Julie is also survived by her father, David Patterson, in addition to her mother Hilda, husband Loyal, son Tony (Natasha), grandchildren Josie, Nicholas, and Ayla, as well as her siblings Robert (Marie) Patterson, Joan (Chris) Seggermen, Kim Patterson, David Patterson, and John (Danette) Patterson.
