Joseph Reddix Death, Obituary – What are some things that you can do when the person who knows all of your secrets, who could call you out on your stupidity, and who could possibly encourage you to do what is right is no longer there? What do you tell someone when they are no longer physically present? When there was just myself and no one else around, I could always count on Joseph Reddix to be there for me like a rock.
He counted myself among the numerous individuals who could call him a friend, and he was one of those individuals. The word “wise” is the first one that comes to mind whenever I try to think of a single descriptor that is appropriate to describe him. It was not hard to comprehend him; all that was required was to ground one’s thoughts and deeds in love, and then everything would become perfectly plain to one.
He was a man who had a deep love for his family and friends. Even though his brilliance was above anything that could be found in this world, it was not hard to understand what he was saying. It was clear that he has a big heart from the way that he treated people and how generously he gave of his time. Developing feelings for him didn’t need much work on my part at all.
We were able to make it through this life as a unit thanks to a relationship that no one other than a Morehouse brother and a Spelman sister could possibly understand. We fought like brothers and sisters, we had fun like Bonnie and Clyde did, and we fought like brothers and sisters again and again. Joey and I argued with each other like we were siblings.
