Ian Ferguson Obituary, Death – We are sorry to inform you that Ian F. M. Ferguson has passed away. His life was lived and loved here on Earth. His hard work and dedication earned him a lot of respect from us. It is with deep regret that we have to deliver this information to you, but it is required (Headmaster of DCJS between 1981 to 1997).
The Department of Children and Juvenile Services in 1970 chose an individual to work at Fortfield both as the Geography Teacher and as the House Tutor. This choice was made by the individual. This individual was given the responsibility of serving in both capacities. In the years 1973 to 1978, he was employed at the Oaksey boarding school in the role of Housemaster.
Second Master Ian, who was 86 years old at the time of his death, had a brief struggle with illness beginning in 1978 and continuing all the way through 1981. He passed away on February 1, 1981, in the hospital where he was receiving treatment before he passed away on February 1. At this time, all of the people who knew Ian, including Margaret, who was his wife, are very much in our thoughts and prayers.
Also included in this group is everyone else who knew him who knew Margaret. In addition, everyone else who knew him and was acquainted with Margaret is also included in this group. After he retired to Wensleydale, which is located in North Yorkshire, he found that keeping up with what was going on at DCPS was a very enjoyable activity. This was after he discovered that keeping up with what was going on at DCPS was a very enjoyable activity. Even after he moved there, this continued to be the case. As a direct consequence of this, he made it a point to sign in at the school any time he was in the general area that it is situated in. This was done whenever he was close by.
