We will never forget you, Harry Hutton, and we will always adore you. It was in the city of Honolulu, Hawaii, on February 2, 1955, that he was presented to the world as the offspring of Hut and Shirl Hutton. His formative years were spent in the territories of Hawaii and Guam, as well as the state of California, before the family moved to Florida in 1987. He began hobbies such as sailing, snorkeling, and bodysurfing when he was a small boy and has maintained his interest in them throughout his entire life.
Both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Geology were earned at the University of Hawaii, and he went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Geology at the University of Florida. Skip worked for the Ocean Drilling Program and traveled the world while he was a student at the University of Hawaii and the University of Florida. Both of these institutions are in the United States.
He met his future wife, Nancy, while he was a student at the University of Florida, and they went on to have a successful marriage. Once receiving his degree in Geology from the University of Florida, Skip moved to St. Augustine in order to start working with LAN Associates as a Geologist after he completed his education there.
