El Paso Cielo Vista Mall Mass Shooting – The authorities in El Paso, Texas, have stated that one person was killed and three people were injured in a shooting that took place on Wednesday evening inside of a shopping center in the city. Two male suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the incident that occurred. During a press conference conducted late on Wednesday night, Interim El Paso Police Chief Peter Pacillas stated that a situation involving gunshots was alleged to have occurred at the Cielo Vista Mall around 5:05 p.m. local time.
Within three minutes of the incident, off-duty cops who were working security at the mall came to the scene. Pacillas revealed that one of the off-duty officers took a suspect into custody after responding to the scene. These officers were off-duty but nonetheless providing protection for the shopping center. “We had off-duty officers working at the local establishment within the mall, and we were on scene at 5:08 p.m., within three minutes,” said Pacillas, adding that the off-duty officer arrested the suspect without firing a weapon.
Pacillas said that the incident was resolved within three minutes. “We had off-duty cops working at the local eatery within the mall,” said Pacillas, who was in charge of security at the shopping center. As reported by the police, one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, while the remaining three casualties were transported to hospitals in the area.
The University Medical Center in El Paso is said to have published a statement in which it indicated that two of the victims who were being treated there were in serious condition. This information was obtained by The Associated Press. There was no information immediately available regarding the condition of the third individual who was wounded in the incident. They were taken to the hospital but their condition was unknown.
