Dorothy Wood Obituary, Death – Dorothy E. Wood, who had lived in the community of Painted Post her whole life, passed away on February 21, 2023 in a facility that was formerly known as Absolut Care. She had lived in Painted Post her entire life. She was well into her 91st year at the time. Her parents, Curt Wood and Naomi (Brown) Wood, had both passed away before she was born, so she was born in Nelson, Pennsylvania on May 23, 1931.
Her parents were Curt Wood and Naomi (Brown) Wood. Additionally, her grandparents had passed away. She was their only child together at the time. Dorothy is going to be remembered not only for the fact that she worked at Westinghouse, but also for the unreserved love that she had for her family. This love will live on in our memories. This love will endure long after Dorothy has left her position at Westinghouse. Only her children, Celia Tritt, Ruth Feathers, Conrad (Lisa) Bartholf Jr.
and Holly Bartholf, will remember her after she has passed away; they are the only ones who will carry her legacy forward. Her grandchildren will have no recollection of her at all. Two of Dorothy’s daughters, Frances Kirkum-Taylor and Cindy Willis, had already passed away prior to the passing of their mother. Both of them had already been taken away from this world when Dorothy arrived.
It will be up to the family to decide when and how they would like to pay their respects in private, and the visit will take place whenever it is most convenient for the family members involved. Those who wish to express their condolences are asked to refrain from sending flowers and instead make a donation in the name of the deceased to a charitable organization of their choosing.
