Dianna Becking Death, Obituary – Dianna Madigan-Becking, a children’s counselor who worked at Women’s Resources, passed away recently. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of her passing. She worked hard for the company for 23 years under the name Dianne, which she preferred to be called. It seemed like she spent every working day of her life telling us how much she enjoyed her job and how proud she was to be a member of the WR “family.”
Over the course of her career, Dianne improved the lives of a great number of children as well as their mothers by working directly with them. Her generous spirit, compassion, and empathy were unmatched by anyone else. Dianne never failed to speak from the heart, and her sincerity and genuine concern for the children were clear in everything she said. As a direct consequence of this, Dianne was always successful in obtaining whatever it was that we required from a donor for the shelter.
She volunteered her time alongside Dave and Lynda Chessman for a number of years in order to support the Annual Toy Ride for the shelter, and she was always so thrilled to see the enormous amount of toys and money that was donated in order to assist children who were in need of additional love in their lives. Dianne was successful in establishing a connection with the organization Dreams Take Flight, which sponsored annual trips to Disney World for a number of the children who were housed at our shelter.
Dianne was a big kid at heart, and she loved participating in those adventures and seeing the joy on the faces of the children. She had a personality that was larger than life, was always upbeat and smiling, and brought happiness to a great number of people. We are grateful to you, Dianne, for opening your heart, your home, and your passion to Women’s Refuge and the women and children it serves. You will always be remembered and loved by each and every one of us.
