David Heath Obituary, Death – When Dave Heath passed away on February 13, 2023 at the IU Arnett Hospital at the age of 75, he had served as both the sheriff of Tippecanoe County and the mayor of Lafayette, Indiana. Prior to his death, Dave Heath had held the positions of both of these offices. Since a significant amount of time ago, Heath had been engaged in combat against cancer.

Dave’s life began on the 9th of October, 1947, in the same location where it was destined to end; he was born in Lafayette, Indiana. Dave’s life was destined to end in this city. David Lynn Heath spent the majority of his formative years in both Lafayette and Chicago, which served as his primary residences. His late father, Joseph N. Heath, Sr., was employed in sales, and his late mother, Geraldine “Jerry” Heath (nee Hanrahan), was employed in the teaching profession.

Both of his parents have passed away. The deaths of both of his parents have occurred. David Lynn Heath is the offspring that his parents brought up as a unit from the time he was born. As a result of the untimely passing of his father when he was still a young child, his mother was responsible for his upbringing all by herself. Throughout his entire life, she has been his most steadfast supporter and has been his primary caregiver.

He considered his two older brothers, the late Joseph N. “Joe” Heath, Jr. and the late John R. “Jack” Heath, to be dependable examples of what a good person should be and looked up to them. In 1965, he received his diploma from Central Catholic High School, and it was during his time there that he formed friendships with people with whom he would remain in contact for the rest of his life. That institution is where he earned his high school diploma.
