Dan Anderson Death, Obituary – The passing of one of the musicians who had the greatest influence on our community throughout the course of their career was recently mourned by members of our community. The genuine enthusiasm that Dan Anderson had for ceramics, art collecting, and education will continue to be passed down to subsequent generations thanks to the legacy that he has left behind.
He devoted his adult life to developing an outstanding and highly regarded clay program at SIUE and teaching a large number of students, a significant number of whom have gone on to have successful careers as artists as a result of the instruction they received from him. After he retired, he devoted a significant portion of his time and energy to the process of expanding the EAC’s operations. Since the very beginning of EAC’s existence, Dan has been one of the most important contributors to the continued growth of the organization. In the end, he was promoted to the position of chair of exhibitions for the organization. During the time that he served in that capacity, he was accountable for the organization of a significant number of extraordinary and one-of-a-kind displays.
Because he has been a supporter of the EAC for such a significant amount of time, his contributions will be remembered for the entirety of our time spent in this location.
