Chris Abbott Obituary, Death – Chris Abbott, also known as Bryan Christopher Abbott, passed away on February 17, 2023. Chris Abbott, who was raised by his parents, Jay and Teresa Abbott, in Atlanta, Georgia, made acquaintances throughout the southeast who would later become his family.

These people ranged from Tallahassee, Florida, to Douglasville, Georgia, and from Athens, Georgia, to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Chris Abbott was born in Atlanta, Georgia. During his time as a student-athlete at the University of Georgia (UGA), Chris forged friendships and accumulated memories.

Earning a spot on the University of Georgia football team was one of his most notable accomplishments, but the people he knew and the stories he could tell were more important to him. After finishing college, I planned to do an internship at Hilton Head, but the experience ended up being much more than that.

Chris was able to pursue his passion of athletics and grow his family by acquiring an incredible set of brothers after meeting them at the Hilton Head Rugby Football Club, which he joined after first becoming acquainted with them. There, he accumulated a lot of priceless memories, and I count myself extremely fortunate to have been able to experience the place and the people through his eyes.

The anecdotes and unforgettable times that Chris and I have shared over the past five and a half years are among the most memorable of my entire life. In 2017, at a tailgate hosted by the University of Georgia, Chris and I had our first encounter. Three years later, in 2021, we were married in Athens. He was the “funny one” in our marriage and made me laugh on a daily basis.

He described himself as such (he even cracked jokes during our vows). I will remember him for his laughs, his smile, and the way that he was willing to do anything in order to make me happy.
Chris was a loving son and a cherished grandson who brought joy to his family. He was a wonderful brother, fantastic nephew, hilarious uncle, cherished son-in-law, and the very best friend that anyone could ever hope to have. Because he was a wonderful husband who made me feel loved each and every day, he will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to meet him and become acquainted with him.
