Charley Ferguson Obituary

Charley Ferguson Obituary, Death – In 2007, the Austin Diocese honored him with the Lumen Gentium Award in celebration of his many years of service to both his church and community. This award was given to him in recognition of his dedication to both. In the beginning of his career, he worked at the West Cotton Gin in addition to the Fleetwood Mobile Homes company. He was devoted to his work and genuinely cared about his employees.

He had a strong devotion to his career. A considerable period of time had passed since Charlie had first started going to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption. On top of that, he was a member of the K.J.T. Society , which was an honor. He had a profound affection for his mother, and it brought him a great deal of joy to tend to her needs up to the time when she passed away.

Since that time, he has made it a routine to pay his respects at her grave on a daily basis. The students at St. Mary’s School, where he was fondly known as “Mr. Charlie,” were some of Charlie’s favorite people to spend time with. Other favorite activities of Charlie’s included playing the accordion, going out to eat, coming to Praha every year with Father Ed, riding on the lawn mower, and most of all, spending time with the students at St. Mary’s School. Edward Ferguson and Evelyn Janek had both passed away before Charlie was born, so he was raised by his grandparents.

His sister and his brother, who were both also named Edward, both went by the name Evelyn. Sister Lucille Cervenka and her husband Bob are among those who have survived; among their nephews and nieces are Bob Cervenka Jr., Charles Janek and wife Susan, Linda Metcalf and husband Roger, Mary Francis Karlik and husband Carlton, Carolyn DeVere and husband Bob, and Monica Wright and husband Danny; among their great nephews and nieces are Jeffery Karlik and wife Laura, Roger and Ryan Metcalf, Allison DeVere, Marcus DeVere and wife Ellen, and Kelli Fish
