The family is receiving assistance from Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home at this time. On March 13, 1950, Carol Liesman was brought into the world by her parents, Orville and Thema (Smalley) Liesman, who resided in Lincoln, Illinois. She was a devoted follower of Christ and was loved by her four siblings: her brother Gary (Kathy) Liesman of Lincoln, Illinois; her three sisters Maggie (Gary) Lawson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Corky (Mark) Young and Neecy (Steve) Vinyard all of Lincoln, Illinois; and
Maggie’s husband Gary Lawson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. There are many surviving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well. Her parents as well as her two brothers, Orville Dale (Maureen) Liesman and Barney Liesman, passed away before she did. Volunteering at her local church, providing meals to those in need, and following the Chicago Cubs on television were some of Sooky’s favorite things to do, especially spending time with her family. Jesus Christ, Carol’s Redeemer, was the person she cherished the most. What a prayer stalwart she turned out to be!
All of the people who had a genuine relationship with her will miss her big, contagious smile as well as her kind and caring heart. Karo, as her best friend Terri affectionately referred to her, has passed through the gates of heaven, where she was undoubtedly greeted by her Lord, who congratulated her on a job well done as a good and faithful servant.
